Jazz trombones – Jubilee Stomp
February 6th, 2010 by
Gunhilde and Gerd, two sisters from the remarkable Swedish Carling Family band, play a trombone duet with the usual driving accompaniment from other family members – particularly mum Aina. This clip taken from the 3 day Stockamollen Swing festival in Sweden in June 2007.(TCA47 has since told me the piece is called “Jubilee Stomp”) Just enjoy!.

February 6th, 2010 at 2:04 am
that goes for people that have enough experience, not for a beginner, proper technique is key for a beginner or else you will develop bad habbits

February 6th, 2010 at 2:04 am
yeye.. but still! thats a regularly bad techique.. that doesnt seem to have any effect on her playing, she playes just awesome!
February 6th, 2010 at 2:04 am
really fun!!
I think this is much more skiffle band music than dixieland… comments?
February 6th, 2010 at 2:04 am
What amazes me about Gunhild is that she can pick up a trumpet after playing the trombone and blow it without her lips falling apart!
February 6th, 2010 at 2:04 am
everyone who is watching this video probably already knows that lol. Obviously a little bit of puffing works for them haha
February 6th, 2010 at 2:04 am
awsome, but i saw some puffing of the cheeks which is bad technique
February 6th, 2010 at 2:04 am
This is incredible. These women would have been the top trombonists of the 20s with this kind of technique! That is some serious dixieland trombone playing!
February 6th, 2010 at 2:04 am
